Main Centre - Toddler Site 

The Main Street location will serve as our dedicated Toddler Program site, thoughtfully designed to support the growth, development, and early learning needs of young children.

 Our full day Toddler program focuses on the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of the children. We achieve this by recognizing and implementing the four foundations of learning: belonging, engagement, expression and well-being into our program. We provide activities and experiences that are child-directed and educator supported through the careful observation of play and environmental design. The children in the program are given the opportunity to explore in a safe and stimulating environment. Through teacher guidance, social interactions are encouraged. A wide variety of planned indoor and outdoor activities are included each day. Daily, Toddlers are provided two healthy snacks and a warm homemade lunch. Toddlers are required to nap or rest for two hours a day on a cozy cot.

 

Program Statement

Just as our name states, we at Unique Minds Child Care Inc. view children as unique, capable and competent. We also believe children are born with a natural curiosity and are rich in potential. We as a Centre want to build upon this, providing many opportunities for learning in all areas of development. By doing this, we will be following How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014) document.

Toddler Playground-

Our playground has been an ongoing project, designed to provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for all children. We have added a variety of new attractions and play equipment to encourage exploration, creativity, and physical development.

The tire area offers excellent gross motor activities, allowing children to enhance their skills while navigating and exploring.

During the summer months, our educators provide a range of outdoor experiences, including water play, chalk art, bubbles, and other engaging educational activities to keep children active and cool.

In the winter months, the playground transforms into a welcoming winter wonderland, with activities such as snow painting, building snowmen and snow forts, and tobogganing, ensuring children continue to enjoy outdoor learning and play throughout the year.

Our goal is to create an environment where every child can explore, learn, and grow in a safe and stimulating space.
